Sri Anjaneyar temple

The 12-foot-tall idol of Sri Anjaneyar was kept as a temple for business purposes by a private individual in a privately owned house.There was a problem with the owner of the place and the person who kept the idol.The case was heard in the Chennai High Court and the verdict was in favor of the owner of the land.As a result the idol of Anjaneyar was removed by court order and laid in its present place.Knowing this, the Hindu Front volunteers gathered there under the guidance of Veera Thuravi Ramagopalan.The then Chief Minister Ms. Jayalalithaa sent the then Minister of Charities Mr. Nadesan Balraj.

The Hindu Front volunteers who had gathered there and the people of the area requested that the Swami be consecrated at the same place.Accepting it, a 12-foot-tall Anjaneyar was consecrated on the site of the present temple.The temple was built on December 2, 2000 with the help of devotees' material for the 96-year-old Anjaneyar. The consecration also took place.Veera Thuravi Ramagopalan started a foundation saying that this temple should be used not only as a place of worship but also for the society. The trust was renamed Ashoknagar Anjaneyar Bhaktha Sabha.
